Outlook Express Disconnects After Sending and Receiving

A common problem reported by dialup ISP clients is the immediate disconnection from the internet after sending or checking their email within Outlook Express.

This happens after the option to hang up after sending and receving has been enabled by the client.

To correct the problem...

  • Open Outlook Express.
  • Click on the "Tools" menu item.
  • Click on the "Options" menu item.
  • Click on the "Connection" tab.
  • Untick the checkbox labelled "Hang up after sending and receiving".
  • Click on the "OK" button.
  • Close Outlook Express
