Logging in to Webmail as Admin via cPanel
Within each cPanel account, a reserved mailbox is created in the name of your cPanel user name
This mailbox is used by cPanel to store special notifications such as bounce messages for undeliverable email items generated by on-server applications, and other sundry items. It is important that you regularly check these items and delete them from your server after dealing with them.
You should never use this reserved email account for sending email.
You should never create any other email address based on the cPanel user name of your account.
You can configure your local email client to collect these items by POP3 or IMAP, or you can manage them completely via your webmail.
To log in to Webmail as Admin via cPanel
- Log in to cPanel.
- Find and click on the "Email Accounts" icon.
- Find the "Default Email Account" section
- Click on the "Access Webmail" link.
From the selection of webmail interfaces presented to you, choose the one you prefer. GCom Internet recommends using the Horde interface unless you have a specific reason not to do so.
For reasons of basic security, the reserved admin email address of cPanel should never be used for sending general email items. Doing so, unnecessarily exposes your cPanel user name to the general public. The address should be reserved solely for cPanel administrative purposes.
